Jillian Snyder, LCSW

Through my own meaningful experiences in therapy throughout childhood and adulthood, I’ve experienced the transformative nature of therapy and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. This has contributed to my own passion as a social worker and has led me directly to my career in the mental health field. I enjoy walking alongside others in their own

therapeutic healing journeys. I completed my undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University in North Carolina before attending University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work for my master’s degree in social work (MSW). My professional experience has included working with children in after-school programming to develop social-emotional learning curriculum, with teens and adolescents in a residential setting, and with adults in behavioral healthcare and addiction treatment settings at the Intensive Outpatient level of care. I have worked with clients to address a spectrum of issues such as trauma, cPTSD, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, addiction, relational issues, and identity exploration.

As a therapist, I aim to empower clients to increase their vulnerability and the depth of understanding of their own internal experiences. In doing so, clients are able to access stronger connection to the Self. My work is relational and client-centered, and I would describe my therapeutic style as non-judgmental, direct, flexible, and encouraging of self-reflection. I enjoy working with clients to address trauma, anxiety, attachment and relational concerns, sexual identity exploration, and other identity work. I utilize EMDR, a type of trauma therapy that can help decrease distress around traumatic events, as well as IFS to help clients better understand their own system of internal parts. I believe that growth and healing is possible through investment in self and that holding hope for healing is a powerful act of self-love.
